With the new academic year fast approaching, we can look forward to another year of great gliding and with it, the delight of worrying about all the newbie members of LUUGS 08/09! With a decent amount of LUUGS members now able to drive the winch and many more ready to begin winch training, we should be easily capable of achieving even more winch launches (and flying!) than last year (and maybe ever before)!

However, I'm sure a lot of you winch drivers have not been about to operate the winch over Summer. Therefore, if you are trained to drive the winch but not current, then it would be a great help to everyone if you were able to go for a day of flying at Dishforth before Sat 27th Sept and get current again. This doesn't mean you'll be stuck in the winch all day when we start weekly trips of course; it will just help to make the day more efficient and enjoyable for the newbies.
