We are having a committee flying day on Saturday to hammer some ideas out and do some work on the Ka-6. The only other available day is therefore Sunday 17th.
If you want to come on Sunday, leave your name, number and whether you are able to drive or not. If we don't get enough drivers then we can use the 36 bus to Ripon
Last weekend was excellent, lots of progress made, including Yirka's first solo, and two new winch drivers being trained up. We're all getting a lot more experience now, and know what we have to do to run the winch efficiently. If we can keep this up we'll be in great form come the soaring season : )
Do you want to work out between yourselves who is driving this Sunday? We won't need two cars, five people is enough for one day, the days aren't quite long enough to comfortably fly more than that yet!
Hi. I am interested about Sunday, so if any places become available could someone give me a bell? If not, I would definitely like to come next week. Thanks, Dave.
Will, I have the car up in Leeds at the moment, so I'll drive Sunday if it means you'd have to go home to get the car.
Matt, is there only going to be one car-full going or can we take more like last Saturday.
My car is in Leeds at the moment. To be honest, I would feel more... comfortable, if we were to take mine. Save yourself the petrol! I don't mind driving at all.
Unfortunately I think we can only take one car on Sunday, as it was a real squeeze last week to get everyone in. That means that quite a few people are going to miss out this week :( We also need to make sure we've got a few experienced hands there to get things running smoothly and safely... for that reason I've put Ben down as the driver, as he is a solo pilot, can drive the winch and DI the machines, and also Will has been a fair bit of late (sorry buddy).
Worry not though, if you missed out this time I'll try and give you priority the next time your name is down. It's great to see so many people wanting to fly!
Weather looks similar to last weekend, i.e. ideal for training, so people should hope to make some real progress this weekend! Bring warm clothes and cheque book to pay for flying! Try and lend a hand when you can, retrieving people if they land long, pulling out the cables [once you've been told how to do so safely]... it makes for a more efficient day if everyone is doing things without being asked. If there's something that you're not sure how to do, get someone to show you!
