Well done to Atanas Atanassov for his first Glider Solo! He did 2 launches off the winch on Sat 20th October. Then bought the beers.
Congrats Atanas. Lets hope for lots more solos this year. Hope this thread can be used to post up achievements throughout the year as they are completed. lets hope for lots of posts!
cheers
Can I put in my last week's achievents?
- Personal best height: 14,500 ft
- First use of oxygen
- First time I used 2 pee bags!
See you this week end for more fun and games!!!
alright let me put mine in then...
highest personal flight same day as bob - but only to 12,250ft.....(no oxygen unfort...) - looked up and something caught my eye, thought it was bob but infact a 737 in the airway! great stuff!
wednesday 14th Nov - first 2 supervised glider aerotows from the other end of the rope! up at sutton bank in supercub. was great fun!
hope people got some good flights in this weekend.
excellent stuff! and still more - dan M did his bronze field landings i believe - 200 pts more! what day was that Dan M?
Let me blow my own horn for a little while...
First solo wave flight last Sunday. Aerotow release at 2,000ft, some 10+ knot climbs to 4,700ft [wave seemed to stop there for some reason].
53 minutes in the air just short of a bronze duration! Not too shabby in a K-13 I don't think!
Keep them coming! We want some more solos before Easter!!
Woo-hoo! I'm now winch trained!
I hope everyone knows the 'too-fast' signall... :D
Matt
Haha congrats mate.
Also, I hear both Mr. Ben Brinkley and Mr. Yirka Matusik have done their first solos at Dishforth this weekend.
Congratulations!!!!! I'll take a southern comfort lemonade, cheers guys.
Lets get that submitted to the Inter-Universities; we'll be dominating the league now!
Darn you beat me to it. Yep, a first solo for Yirka, and a re-solo for Ben, who was also winch trained today. We're making tons of progress here boys and girls, keep it up!
And another one... Mr Tom Elliot, first solo today... Well done my boy!
Awesome!! Congrats Tom!!! Another winch driver :-))
awesome stuff//////////top of the league here we come......!
Congrats to Tom Elliot who got his PPL sorted a couple of days ago!! He might even learn to fly a real airplane sometime too! :D
Woohoo
XC endorsement field landings... done
Bronze logbook requirements... done
Well done to Yirka and Atanas who are now qualified to fly the K-18, and best of all, drive the winch :D
Nice one boys!
Finally some soaring worth talking about!
On Sunday 18th May Bob Crick nailed his five hours, and on 24th May Yirka got his hour for bronze and xc, and Tom Elliot and me got a bronze leg each. Great stuff! That K-18 is going to be a busy aeroplane!
Matt
Just to keep you guys up to date with me, I`ve done 3 flights at Parham since joining last month, first flight in K21 was 50 minutes along with some great aerobatics. 2nd flight was an 1hour and 11 minutes in a DG505 and then last wednesday was 1 hour 5 minutes in the 505 again, not bad that last one considering the sea breeze was moving through. Instructors think i`ll be very close to solo for the Inter Unis so hoping to add to the points total.
Looking forward to seeing everyone in lasham!
Steve
More soaring success! Yirka and myself both nailed our 2nd bronze legs in the K-18. Things are looking good!
Matt
Well done guys, soon be past me the way my gliding's going!
thought I might as well add (in case anyone wonders where I've gone..!)
I got a job up in Inverness with Highland Airways on their cadet scheme there! An achievement I reckon, still can't get over it! Dont qualify for about 2 yrs (have a stint on operations first), but hope to get on 406s on fisheries protection-quality hands on flying, low level over the north sea!
Take care guys, should be up on Sat(7th) on route to INV!
More success, really guys, we're too good...
Congrats to Will Scallan on his first solo on Sunday. More fodder for the winch and K-18 (and K-6 when the paperwork is sorted out!)
Also more soaring success for Yirka, busting the 2 hour mark from the winch for his XC endorsement. Nice one!
Keep 'em coming....
