Let me blow my own horn for a little while...

First solo wave flight last Sunday. Aerotow release at 2,000ft, some 10+ knot climbs to 4,700ft [wave seemed to stop there for some reason].

53 minutes in the air just short of a bronze duration! Not too shabby in a K-13 I don't think!

Keep them coming! We want some more solos before Easter!!

Finally some soaring worth talking about!

On Sunday 18th May Bob Crick nailed his five hours, and on 24th May Yirka got his hour for bronze and xc, and Tom Elliot and me got a bronze leg each. Great stuff! That K-18 is going to be a busy aeroplane!

  1.

Just to keep you guys up to date with me, I`ve done 3 flights at Parham since joining last month, first flight in K21 was 50 minutes along with some great aerobatics. 2nd flight was an 1hour and 11 minutes in a DG505 and then last wednesday was 1 hour 5 minutes in the 505 again, not bad that last one considering the sea breeze was moving through. Instructors think i`ll be very close to solo for the Inter Unis so hoping to add to the points total.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in lasham!

    Steve

Well done guys, soon be past me the way my gliding's going!
thought I might as well add (in case anyone wonders where I've gone..!)

I got a job up in Inverness with Highland Airways on their cadet scheme there! An achievement I reckon, still can't get over it! Dont qualify for about 2 yrs (have a stint on operations first), but hope to get on 406s on fisheries protection-quality hands on flying, low level over the north sea!

Take care guys, should be up on Sat(7th) on route to INV!

More success, really guys, we're too good...

Congrats to Will Scallan on his first solo on Sunday. More fodder for the winch and K-18 (and K-6 when the paperwork is sorted out!)
Also more soaring success for Yirka, busting the 2 hour mark from the winch for his XC endorsement. Nice one!

    Keep 'em coming....
